Every meme coin term explained in plain language. Search anything — from rug pull to smart money.
DYOR
Do Your Own Research — never buy a coin because someone shouted it. If you can't explain the thesis in one sentence, you don't have one.
Rug Pull
When a dev drains liquidity and disappears. Check LP locked, mint revoked, and holder spread BEFORE aping.
LP (Liquidity Pool)
The pot of funds that lets you swap tokens. No LP or unlocked LP = your exit can vanish overnight.
Market Cap
Price × supply. A coin at $0.001 with 1T supply needs 10x more money than one at $1 with 100M supply to double.
Slippage
The price difference you accept between clicking buy and the trade landing. Meme coins often need 5–10%; too low = failed tx.
CA (Contract Address)
The coin's on-chain ID. Always trade by CA, never by ticker — scammers clone popular names constantly.
Honeypot
A malicious contract where you can buy but never sell. Test with a small amount or a honeypot checker first.
Seed Phrase
Your wallet's master key. Write it on paper. A photo, screenshot, or cloud note equals giving away your entire bag.
Whale
A holder big enough to move the price alone. Check the top-10 holders — if one wallet owns 30%+, you're exit liquidity waiting to happen.
FOMO
Fear Of Missing Out — the most expensive emotion in crypto. The chart that makes you feel late is the chart that makes you rekt.
Diamond Hands
Holding through volatility with conviction. Works only when the thesis is still intact — otherwise it's just denial with extra steps.
Paper Hands
Selling at the first red candle. The market's favorite liquidity source.
ATH
All-Time High. Buying near ATH on a dead chart is catching a falling knife with your savings.
Position Sizing
Never go all-in. Size positions so that a total loss on one trade is a lesson, not a funeral.
TP/SL
Take Profit / Stop Loss — decide your exit BEFORE entering. Emotion is a terrible portfolio manager.
Priority Fee
Solana's tip to jump the queue. On hyped launches, a too-low priority fee means your buy lands after the pump.
Bundling
When snipers bundle dozens of wallets to buy at launch, faking demand. First-70-buyers full of fresh wallets = red flag.
Sniper
A bot that buys the exact moment liquidity is added. You're rarely faster — don't race them, wait for the dust to settle.
DEX
Decentralized exchange — you trade from your own wallet, no custody. Uniswap, Raydium, Jupiter are the big names.
Stablecoin
A token pegged to fiat (USDC, USDT). Your safe harbor between trades — not your yield farm casino chip.
Bridge
Moves assets between chains. Bridges are historically the most-hacked constructions in crypto — move fast, hold nothing on them.
FDV
Fully Diluted Valuation — market cap if every token existed today. Memecoins with billions of FDV need armies of buyers, not tweets.
Bag Holder
Someone left holding worthless tokens after the pump. The trench's most common job title.
Pump & Dump
A coordinated price spike followed by orchestrated selling. If a coin's only fundamental is a countdown timer, you're the product.
Copy Trading
Mirroring a wallet's trades automatically. A shortcut for entries — but exits, sizing and risk are still yours to own.
DCA
Dollar Cost Averaging — buying in fixed slices instead of one shot. Tames timing risk; doesn't fix a broken thesis.
Reflection Token
A token that pays holders a cut of every trade. Usually a loyalty scheme for a sinking ship.
Wallet Tracker
Tooling that alerts you when tracked wallets move. Great for ideas — terrible as a substitute for thinking.
Liquidity Burn
Sending LP tokens to a dead address so nobody can ever withdraw them. The strongest rug-pull protection that exists.
Mint Authority
The power to print more supply. If it's not revoked, your 2% holding can become 0.2% while you sleep.
FUD
Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. Sometimes a genuine warning, often a shakeout strategy to get your bags cheap.
Ape In
Buying with maximum conviction and minimum research. Occasionally glorious, statistically catastrophic.
Gas War
When everyone bids fees at once and only the highest payers land trades. The launch-day tax on impatience.
Rekt
Crypto's word for wrecked — the state of your portfolio after ignoring everything this glossary warns about.
Smart Money
Wallets with a track record of early entries and profitable exits. Follow their footsteps, not their fans.
